Ende der Hockeysaison

Am Montag war unser Hockeyabschluss. Wie gewöhnlich sind wir mit dem Schulbus nach Duncan gefahren und da es geregnet hat, haben wir kein Hovkey gespielt, sondern sind zum Tim Hortons gegangen und haben Kaffee getrunken, Armbänder für die anderen gemacht und Spieler des Jahres gewählt. Die Kategorien waren:
- Most Valuable (also der, der oft da war und so irgendwie
- Most sportsmnalike (der, der ein sportliches Verhalten gezeigt hat)
- Most Improved (der, der sich am meisten verbessert hat)
- Rookie of the year (der Neuzugang des Jahres)

Ilka wurde Most Improved und ich wurde zum Rookie of the year gewählt. Ich hab eine Tasse mit Süssigkeiten bekommen und hab mich echt gefreut.
Ich werde Feldhockey und meine Mannschaft so vermissen, das war eine tolle Zeit.

Trick or treating, Icehockey, Frozen Yoghurt

Hohoho! 

I have the feeling that I am getting really fat here. 
Because I went trick or treating on Halloween with my friends, I have now enough candy for 500 years. And all candy is so yummy!!! *_* 

On Halloween, I visited my friends Jenaya, Piper, Kelsey, Hylikje and Carla and we went trick or treating in Cowichan Bay. We got a lot of candy and it was sooooo fun!
We met also Megan and some other people and after we finished trick or treating, we went to some fireworks and met Jessica and some other friends there.
It was amazing and it was similar to the Silvester-parties in Germany.

More Candyyyyyy!

Last week, I was alone with my host sister at home, because my host parents have been to Edmonton. Over night, my host grandmother came and cooked dinner and just slept in the house (the International Student Program recommends that)

On Wedenesday, we went with another friend of Maegan to Victoria and I bought some shoes and some clothes. 

And on Friday, Maegan and I went to an ice hockey game. I had free tickets from the International Program and so we had some fun in the arena. I caught a puck and a T-shirt and I was the happiest person on the planet at this time. 

It was so funny, we sat next to a weird man and some Japanese boys from my school asked me if Maegan is my host mother. And that happened two times!!! 

After the game, we went to a place where you can buy Frozen Yoghurt and Chad, a friend of Maegan joined our "party". This evening was great!

Die letzten zwei Wochen

Die Zeit geht so schnell vorbei, das ist so unglaublich. Es ist schon fast die Hälfte rum! Ich komme aber richtig gut mit meiner Gastfamilie zurecht und meine Freunde in der Schule sind die besten, die ich jemals mir erwünscht habe in Kanada zu finden. 
Letzte Woche waren meine Gasteltern in Edmonton, da mein Gastvater dort etwas wegen seinem Job machen musste. Also waren ich und meine Gastschwester alleine, wobei meine Gastoma über Nacht da war und uns Abendessen als gekocht hat.
Am Mittwoch waren Maegan, ihre Freundin und ich direkt nach der Schule in Victoria. Dort haben wir dann in H und M, American Eagle und Aéropostale ein bisschen "geshoppt" und ich habe endlich Winterschuhe gefunden.
Am Freitag Abend sind Maegan und ich zum Eishockeyspiel gegangen, da ich Freikarten vom "International Program" bekommen habe. Und ich habe einen Puck UND ein Tshirt gefangen. Ich war echt der glücklichste Mensch an dem Abend.
Danach sind wir noch Frozen Yoghurt essen gegangen und Chad, ein Freund von Maegan, ist noch zu uns gestoßen. Wir hatten einen schönen Abend und ich bin erst sehr spät ins Bett gekommen.
Heute, am Samstag, habe ich mit meinen Freundinnen geskypet und bin dann am Nachmittag noch zu Mangans Arbeitsstelle gelaufen und habe ihr Hallo gesagt. Es gab gratis Popcorn und ich habe eine Taschenlampe und Kaugummi gekauft. Jey! 

Das war es eigentlich schon wieder von mir.

Pumpkin Carving, Brezeln & Sleepover

Letztes Wochenende war wieder ein verlängertes Wochenende. Jippieh!
Den freien Freitag habe ich genutzt, um mit meinen Freunden etwas essen zu gehen. 
Mit dem Fahrrad !!!!!! bin ich erst einmal zu Ilka gefahren, habe dort meine Sachen abgelegt und dann sind wir nach Cowichan Bay gefahren. Wieder mit dem Fahrrad! Ilka's Gastmutter meinte, dass das so 20 Minuten sind, wir haben aber 40 Minuten gebraucht. 
In einem Restaurant am Meer sind wir dann auf Jessica, Hylkje und Jenaya getroffen. 
Gegessen habe ich ein warmes Käsesandwich und Gemüse. 
Das Highlight an diesem Tag war aber der Besuch in einer Bäckerei, welche auch Brezeln im Sortiment hatte. Ich habe gleich 5 Brezeln gekauft und es war einfach soooooo lecker!
Dann sind Ilka und ich wieder zu ihrem Haus gefahren, haben Käsespätzle gemacht und sind dann gegen 12 Uhr, gefüllt mit Popcorn ins Bett gefallen.
Am nächsten Morgen haben wir nach einem leckeren Frühstück am Strand ein paar Fotos gemacht und einfach den kanadischen Herbst genossen. 
Nachdem ich von meinem Gastvater mit dem Truck abgeholt worden bin, und wieder zuhause war, hat mich meine Gastschwester Maegan auch schon gefragt, ob ich denn mit ihr zu ihren Freunden gehen möchte und "Pumpkin carven" möchte. Ich habe natürlich bejaht und wir sind erstmal zu einem Supermarkt gefahren und haben dort auch schon Chad, ein Freund getroffen. Zum Abendessen haben wir Pizza gekauft und sind dann zu Chad's Haus gefahren. Dort stieß dann noch Cody zu uns und wir haben mit dem Kürbis schnitzen begonnen. Das war eine riesige Sauerei, aber es war soooo witzig! Ich habe das Krümelmonster aus der Sesamstraße gemacht, Maegan das Pokemon Pikachu, Chad Meister Yoda und Cody das Gespenst Boo.
Anschließend, nachdem wir fertig waren, haben wir noch unnötige Kochwettbewerbe angeschaut, was aber im Endeffekt auch ganz interessant war.
Und am nächsten Tag war schon Sonntag. 
Ich habe am Sonntag nicht besonders viel gemacht, meine Englisch-Aufsätze beendet, aber sonst auch nichts.
Am nächsten Tag, Montag, hatte ich dann noch ein Hockeyspiel und es macht wirklich extrem viel Spaß mit meiner Mannschaft!

Last weekend,
I went to Friday (no school) with the bike to Cowichan Bay, where I ate lunch with my friends and bought some Pretzels! They have been so tasty, I really enjoyed it to fill my body with some German food. In the evening, Ilka (a friend) and me went to her house and we had some nice "Spätzle" with cheese. And some popcorn! I slept over in her house, so we could talk a little bit about everything, watch a movie and do some crazy stuff. 
On Saturday, we went to the beach, shot some photos and enjoyed the Canadian fall.
And in the evening, when i have already been picked up by my host dad, Maegan (my host sister) and I went to her friend's house and we carved pumpkins with her friends Chad and Cody. That was so fun!
The next day, I did some schoolwork (borrrrring!!!) and on Monday, I had a hockey game against Shawnigan. We tied 0:0.

The last weekends with Thanksgiving etc.

Heyho! 

I have so much to do that it is soooooo hard for me to keep up with the blog posts. 
In the school I have to be so fast, that I won't get behind with the Learning guides, but all in all it is great, also in school.
I found so nice friends and I am so happy that I met them.
We made a lot of trips together already. I visited some friends and had to break in the house through the window of the bathroom, because the door was locked and she had no key, or we watched an ice hockey game and I cheered so loudly that I had no voice anymore on the next day. All things I did have been so much fun! I am really enjoying the time here!
On the last Saturday, it was my host sisters birthday. I painted her a card and gave her a bracelet as a present. And I tried to work for my math courses in Germany, but I had not enough time. I will do it next weekend!

And the main part of this blog post should normally be....Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving was such a big and great event. Around 12 pm on Sunday, my host father and me went to my host grandmothers ouse to press apple cider with all relatives. It was awesome to see how delicious things you can make out of ugly apples. 
And in late afternoon, everybody went to "my" house to help preparing the turkey and the vegetables for the Thanksgiving dinner. The turkey was really impressing, 28 pounds heavy. 
All was soooooo nice and it is disappointing that we donot have this party in Germany.

Last weekend

Hey to all those nice readers!

On the last weekend happened sooo many things, too much to talk about everything. But one thing is very important.

Friday - Vancouver

On Friday, I have been to Vancouver with all the international students. It was so much fun and I bought so many things!

We all had to get up early in the morning, around 5 am, because the bus left at 6:20 am at the school. 

While sleeping and listening to music, we got to Nanaimo, the city where our ferry left. 90 minutes on the ferry and then again 40 minutes in the bus was a very long travel time. But already the first stop was great. 

At Stanley Park, we had a short break to take wonderful photos and enjoy the nice weather. 

The next stop was at the aquarium. We saw a lot of different fishes, some Beluga-whales and too much jellies.

And the highlight of our trip came closer and closer with every second. At 2 pm, it was finally there. The four hours shopping time in Vancouver downtown. Wuhuuuu! Isn't that great?

Pacific Center was our main whereabout. With Hollister, American Eagle and Co it is one of the greatest shopping malls I have ever seen. After the purse was a little bit thinner and the four hours were over, we had to go back to the bus, back on the ferry and back home. At 11 pm, I fell in my bed and slept right away.

Saturday - Ice hockey

Saturday was another great day. In the morning I did a little bit homework (that was not the great part of the day) and tidied up my room.

And then, the adventure started. Leonie came to me and my host father rove us to Duncan where we met Emily, Tenneh, Jessica, Megan, Ilka, Jenaya and Cristina at the cafe Tim Hortons. 

Some people drank a coffee or, for example I ate a bagel with butter and after that, we went to the Ice Hockey Arena.

The game "Capitals vs. Powell Rivers" started at 7 pm and it was a great atmosphere in the arena. We cheered a lot for the Capitals, but they lost 5-2. :( Anyway, it was an awesome experience for me, and I learned a lot on this day. For example that you cheer for your team, but do not boo. That was so amazing!

Sunday - Apple picking

The Sunday was my chilly day. Around noon, I went with my host father, my host grandmother and my host cousin to a family with a lot of apple trees and some other plants and picked some apples. Because on the next weekend, my host grandmother will make apple cider. 

Monday - Field Hockey  

On Monday, we had a field hockey game against Shawnigan Lake a private school. We scored no goal and so the final score was 0-0. But it was great to do some sports again.

Yes, that was my weekend. Next weekend is Thanksgiving. I am really excited for that!

Vancouver, Ice Hockey etc.

Wie geht es euch so in Deutschland oder wo auch immer ihr seid?

Mir geht es hier super. Ich bin gerade von einem Icehockeymatch zurück gekommen. Ich muss sagen, das ist schon richtig aggressiv, wie die Spieler sich manchmal anrempeln. Aber es war trotzdem eine super Stimmung. Man merkt wirklich, dass man hier in Kanada ist. Die Kanadier feuern nämlich ihre Mannschaft extrem an, aber buhen die andere Mannschaft nicht aus. Das sollte in Deutschland auch so sein.
Ich war dort mit meinen deutschen Freundinnen, einem spanischen und einem norwegischen Mädchen und fünf kanadischen Freundinnen. Ich bin so froh, dass ich jetzt auch mit Kanadiern befreundet bin. Wir waren wirklich sehr verrückt und haben die ganze Zeit die "Capitals" angefeuert und es war einfach genial. Ich habe auch noch ein Autogramm und ein Foto von einem Hockeyspieler bekommen, das werde ich mal posten.

Und gestern war auch ein superschöner Tag. Die Internationals sind nämlich nach Vancouver gegangen. Erst musste man schön früh um 5 Uhr aufstehen, um pünktlich den Bus an der Schule zu erreichen. Und dann konnte man noch auf der Fähre nach Vancouver schlafen. Zum Glück war schönes Wetter und es hat nicht geregnet. Erst einmal haben wir kurz im Stanley Park angehalten und ein paar Fotos gemacht und dann haben wir ein Aquarium besucht mit Belugawalen und Pinguinen. Und dann nachmittags durften vier Stunden in Vancouver Downtown einkaufen gehen! Das hört sich erst einmal lang an, aber so lang war das gar nicht. Wir waren meisten im Einkaufszentrum mit Hollister, American Eagle und Co, und in ein paar anderen Läden. Zum Glück sind wir pünktlich zum Treffpunkt gekommen, denn sonst dürften wir jetzt nicht mehr auf weitere Ausflüge mit. Und auf der Fähre Richtung Insel habe ich dann Süßkartoffel-Pommes gegessen, hat sehr interessant geschmeckt. Und dann durfte ich gegen 23 Uhr endlich in mein Bett fallen und einschlafen.

Ansonsten läuft bei mir mit Gastfamilie und Schule  und so weiter alles prima.
